Welcome! Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Shirts Across America as we build homes in New Orleans, Louisiana!
In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina made landfall along the Gulf Coast, devastating communities in Mississippi and Louisiana. In New Orleans, levee failures led to extensive flooding throughout the city, with up to 20 feet of water in some neighborhoods.
Shirts Across has made a commitment to the people of New Orleans by building homes throughout the school year. To date, SAA has sent over 1,750 volunteers to the Gulf Coast to help rebuild homes.
All students and adults who are interested in volunteering with us must attend a mandatory trip information night. These events are held at the beginning of the school year and will provide important details regarding our upcoming trips to New Orleans.
