SAA’s Core Team sees UW Trounce Cal at Husky Stadium

Core Team makes a special visit to Husky Stadium

In what was the last Pacific Coast Conference home opener for the University of Washington, SAA’s Core Team made their way to Husky Stadium for the game versus California. This game was significant as this season marks the end of UW’s membership in what is now known as the PAC-12. The Husky’s were one of four founding members who started the conference in December 1915. Next year begins a new era as Washington moves over to the Big 10 and SAA wanted to be a part of this historical season.

Before our seats got warm it was 14-0, the Husky’s jumped out in front early and never looked back. An interception returned for a TD and a returned punt for an 83 yard TD with 9:13 left in the 1st quarter started the action. That was just the beginning. If you blinked, you missed a score as UDub rumbled to a 45-12 halftime lead.

Husky’s star quarterback Michael Penix, Jr. threw for 304 yards and 4 TD’s. We are excited to see his continued success throughout the season.

SAA’s former Core Team member and UW’s former star Tight End, Cade Otton, was on our mind. Cade rolled up his sleeves and led his SAA team to New Orleans from Olympia high school and PTech. Now he is in the trenches playing on Sundays with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in his second season. Good luck Cade, we are all cheering for you!

SAA is all about connecting our history to the present.

Our visit to Husky Stadium yesterday was to connect the dots as the University of Washington closes a chapter of 108 years as they leave the PAC-12 at the end of this storied season.

The Final Score
Washington 59, California 32

We are 4 NOLA.
